You see, my mood is now 200% improved due to the fact that...someone...has already written
a much more satisfying death scene for Remus & Tonks than Rowling could ever have done. See? No More.
Not only does it give a perfect explanation for their deaths, but it brings out all the emotions and thoughts that couldn't be specifically written into the book anyway.
Perhaps its most startlingly impressive quality is that after reading it, I've come to the conclusion that maybe I'm happier to see them back with the Sirius, James and Lily than being the elder pseudo-aunt and uncle to that pack of babies in the epilogue, anyway.
Now if I could only stop the words from the book ringing through my head...
