Question & Memes

Where in the world (literally, is it a regional thing?) are baby wolves called cubs?  I've noticed the phrase come up all the time in various Lupin/Tonks stories, but I can't fathom why as I never heard them called anything but pups.  My Google searching is proving ineffective as I try to come up with the origins of this other term's use; I was hoping someone here could help.

And now, while I wait for either my Amazon package to come in the mail or more dancing to come on TV, I have fun memes snagged from scsquidsnaps

What do the Harry Potter adults think of you?

Albus Dumbledore thinks you are a very valuable member of the Order of the Phoenix.
Lord Voldemort
hates you beyond belief.

Minerva McGonagall
adores you and loves you like a daughter.
Severus Snape thinks you are a terrible student and an annoying little brat.
Rubeus Hagrid
thinks you are a great student and a wonderful friend.
Horace Slughorn doesn't think of you much.

Sirius Black tries to avoid you but kind of enjoys the fact that you are in love with him.
Remus Lupin
is madly in love with you and would do anything for you.
Bill Weasley
acts like he's your friend but secretly dislikes you.

Lucius Malfoy  thinks you're an idiot and would love to kill you.
Bellatrix Lestrange
doesn't even know you exist.
Peter Pettigrew doesn't know you exist either.

Wait, how does Bellatrix not know someone Voldemort hates beyond belief?  Or does he just hate me on principle for being an Order member?  Overall, though I have to say, I'm pretty happy with this result.  It's always good to be in McGonagall's good graces, especially if you can stay far away from Slughorn in the process.

Poor Sirius is clearly delusional if he thinks I'd turn down Lupin's charms to chase after him, but if concocting ridiculous notions makes him happy, then I'll just let him believe it.  :D  And I'm not Bill Weasley's biggest fan either, so that arrangement works out quite well.

Don't know why Lucius thinks I'm an idiot, though; I clearly stated that I find him the most attractive of all the Death Eaters.  You'd think he'd want to believe the hype.

Which friend could this be a theme tune for, and why?:: I really haven't a clue
Write down the chorus::
'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away

Why do you like this song?:: It's haunting, and I like the underlying guitar melody.  And of course, Amy Lee's voice is just gorgeous and emotive.

Song Number 5:: "Stephanie Says" - Velvet Underground
What kind of film would you choose this as the theme for?:: My biopic.  No, seriously, some kind of indie art house flick about an eccentric artist.  Which is really not what my biopic would focus on.

What's the cover look like on the album this came from?:: A faded closeup of Maria (almost like it's obscured by fog) smiling at the camera.

Naw, that can't be the end!  Can I do it twice?  Please?  PLEASE?  Excellent.

At Pooh Corner by one
You'd be surprised
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh

Why do you like this song?:: It's a kid's song, yeah.  But it's from the perspective of a grownup, which gives it a good deal of nostalgia, and I tend to be all YAY, NOSTALGIA!

Song Number 5:: "Cosy in the Rocket" - Psapp
What kind of film would you choose this as the theme for?:: Grey's Anatomy could make a movie, couldn't it?
Who introduced you to this artist?:: Grey's Anatomy
