This is just to squee:

I went to the library last night and the book fairies gave me an early Christmas present, a.k.a. beloved childhood favorite WHINNY OF THE WILD HORSES!!!! that I have dreamed of owning most of my life and specifically been hoping to stumble upon for the past two years. It was in the book sale area for $1 and now it is mine. A nice library-binding edition, too -- this book had a couple different editions but thankfully this is the classic second version that I fell in love with as a child.

In other news, St. Mary of the Lake elementary school, you could have just backed up your entire collection of animal-centric library culls to my back porch instead of making me hunt them down one at a time as they appear on the Friends of the Library sale shelves.
