Extraordinary Book Titles

Note: this is a queued post and will be linked to the main post when I get a chance.

As inspired by the main Top Ten Tuesday topic [here].

I'm offering little to no commentary or explanation this week, which is why I'm going to WAY EXCEED ten -- by a factor of three, in fact. Everything on this list is just a title that I think sounds really cool and/or unusual, is musical or rolls off the tongue, creates evocative imagery, possibly would serve as a good horse name, or is otherwise unmistakable. Whether or not I actually like the book has minimal bearing on its appearance here; I have read or attempted most of these and most are good, but some are merely "fine." Opinions provided upon request.

  • The Alfred G. Graebner Memorial High School Handbook of Rules and Regulations (yes that is the name of a novel)

  • And Condors Danced

  • Astor Place Vintage

  • Aunt Jane McPhipps And Her Baby Blue Chips

  • By The Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead

  • Cherry Money Baby (because sometimes I say this to the tune of puppy-monkey-baby. don't judge me! also don't google it if you don't get the reference. you will hate the earworm you can never forget, and also possibly wish your eyes had never beheld this creature)

  • Dreamsleeves

  • The Fortunes of Indigo Sky

  • The Geography of Lost Things

  • How Do You Spank a Porcupine?

  • I'll Trade You An Elk

  • Inkheart & Inkspell

  • It All Began With Jane Eyre

  • Keeper of the Isis Light

  • The Lost City of Z

  • The Museum at Purgatory

  • The Museum of Heartbreak (museums r neat)

  • Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry (two good horse names!)

  • Shadow Spinner (another good horse name!)

  • Songs For A Teenage Nomad

  • The Stillmeadow Road

  • Thunderwith (my favorite horse name)

  • Tomorrow, When the War Began

  • Treasure at the Heart of the Tanglewood (and it is at this very moment that I realize I've always dropped the second "the" and now it sounds less cool to my ears. but only slightly less)

  • Wanderlost

  • Wanderlove

  • What Do You Do With A Kinkajou? (unrelated to the porcupine-spanking above)

  • The Zoo That Never Was
