Top 10 Saddle Club Book Covers

Note: this is a queued post and will be linked to the main one when I get a chance.

This week's topic at That Artsy Reader Girl is a "cover freebie." Less than 48 hours ago, I had absolutely no idea what to do with that and was on the verge of skipping again. But then some late-breaking inspiration struck and I finished writing & publicized my massively long and unwieldy Saddle Club: A Retrospective post that I'd had half done in a private post for ages, so that I could leapfrog off that for this one.

If you don't want to read the long post, here's my background with this series in a nutshell:

Began reading it in 5th grade, was obsessed with it through the entirety of middle school (alongside Thoroughbred and any other horse book I could get), but only owned 1 because I was already collecting multiple book series. I read it as I found it at the library, so I didn't go in chronological order and missed many along the way, but my reading range spanned from the second book until the second to last book, plus high school spin-off Pine Hollow (would have read Pony Tails too, had I known it existed). I was most like Lisa in reality, quieter & academic w/ minimal horse experience -- but Stevie and Carole were my favorites. Max Regnery (the strict stable owner) scared me, but I loved all the horses.

And the covers were a huge part of its initial allure, because these drawings were so beautifully detailed. I could go on and on about them, but I already have, so today I will let the images speak for themselves. Here are 10 of the series' most memorable covers to me:

P.S. I will say/repeat just one thing, for Summer Horse: I chose this one because w/ the woods backdrop, this is one of my favorite summery covers ever, across all books.

P.P.S. Actually I will say two things: in terms of my absolute favorite cover in this series, it's probably Horse Whispers. Closely followed by Saddle Sore.

+ Bonus link to The Saddle Club's series page on Goodreads if you want to investigate any titles further.

Your turn: what's your favorite from this set? If you also happened to read The Saddle Club and have any memories you want to share, let's chat!
