Come on, buzz me up to heaven

Is there a way to unhear something?

I was always vaguely aware that Billie Piper started out as a pop singer, but that didn't prepare me for the appalling awfulness that is "Honey to the Bee."  *falls out of chair, simultaneously laughing and crying*

I swear, all I was doing was poking around to see if there was a soundtrack for Doctor Who, and then I stumbled over this song.  I'd always kind of wanted to look up her music, because my Billie Piper love has trouble with boundaries, and pop music is my guilty pleasure, so I figured this was a good opportunity to go exploring.  Then as the track started playing I looked up the lyrics, and...BWAHAHAHAHA *CRY*  The saccharine nonsense is unbearable.

I'm thinking about your sugar lips
Got a feeling for you now that's so strong
I'm dreaming of the candy in your fingertips
Baby don't stay away from me too long
I've been missing you, I should be kissing you
Honey to the bee, that's you for me

And the worst part is that even though I only listened to a brief clip, I've had the chorus stuck in my head for two days and I think I might be starting to find it catchy.  If I wake up screaming tomorrow morning, it's probably from a nightmare where Rose decides to pursue a new hobby and serenade the Doctor with this.

*10 minutes later*
Oh, God.  Someone help me - I just heard the whole thing.  Then I put it on my Imeem playlist.  In five seconds, I'm going to start looking for an MP3 [mission: accomplished].  I think...I think I've fallen in love with it.  Let's pretend it's just because Billie Piper is magic, and not because I actually have no shame where bubblegum pop is concerned.

V: I really, really love how you have this penchant for discovering 90's pop music on your all-night homework benders.   *is still snickering over the Backstreet Boys/N*Sync/Hanson episodes*
RS: Quiet, you.

[EDIT: Oh, dear I've found the entire "Best of Billie" album (that's a good place to start, right?) and it's official:  I am completely enamored with just about every second of it, and redact and any all previous negative statements.  Other music has ceased to exist as I wrap myself up in a blissful combination of driving beats and gorgeous ballads.  Wheeee, Billie Piper!]
