This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of IN MY LIFE.  *quivers with emotion*  I am apoplectic at the idea that anyone would take this seriously or attempt to implement it on any scale, so appallingly disgusting is it, and that is all I can say before I spontaneously combust.

This makes me simultaneously want to scream, cry, throw up, stab people, and curl up sobbing in a fetal position wishing for death so I don't have to live in a world where people commit wanton acts of mindless destruction in the name of the greater good.

Okay, seriously, WTF???!!!! Just because a book is more than 25 years old means it's bad? That is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard, and I've heard a lot of stupid crap!

Yes! It will kill your children with big flakes of lead! ...except not. Not unless you were licking lead-containing-pigment-heavy illustrations for hours on end, and even then I'm skeptical. While young children put a lot of weird things in their mouths, I seriously don't think we have to worry about this. Because, you know, people were publishing and reading books for A REALLY LONG TIME PRIOR TO 1985 (and continued reading many of those same books for another 20+ years). If it were such a danger, don't you think we would have noticed a problem long before now?
