First impressions of Man Down

(that's me, RS - bringing you the fastest post-episode updates in LJ land)

Dude, I don't even know what to say.  Not sure that as a whole it was as good as part 1, but parts of it were but DAMN AWESOME, and caused me to shriek and squee in delight, and while most of the Eric section of my painstakingly crafted fic-in-progress is now in ribbons, I am fairly confident I can fix that.

T*evil laughter* MWU-HA-HA-HA!  There are gonna be a whole lot of people ticked off that the flashback to Speed's death was cut, including me - but for me, the ten zillion Marisol references TOTALLY MADE UP FOR THAT.

HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP.  That was like...my fic material doubled again.  *shivers and shakes with glee*

Also, there was much gold for the E/C shippers.  ROSARY.  DUDE.  That was brilliant for shippers and non-shippers alike.  And WHEN HE WOKE UP!  When was the last time Calleigh was on the verge of tears?  She was red-eyed after Hagen died, I remember that much, but it's been a while.

Back to Marisol - you know, I had not even let myself hope that they would bring her up.  I honestly didn't trust them to be that awesome, although I should have because they like the new, and Marisol is new while Speed is old.  BUT IT IS STILL AWESOME.  And my heart frickin' broke that the first person he wanted to see at his side was her.  Not his parents, even - his sister.  I knew they were close, but THANKS FOR MAKING MARISOL'S DEATH HURT EVEN MORE.  NINE MONTHS LATER.  (Side note: Is this what it's like being a Speed lover?  Because it sucks.)

These thoughts will be at least partially replaced, expanded upon and/or written more coherently later on, so keep checking back.  I have a feeling it's going to be another wicked all-nighter.  Though I woke up at 5:30 this morning, so...we'll see.
