Shipping Meme, part 3

So, my computer has crashed and died again.  Being more stubborn than usual about reviving. That's fun.  And might put a slight damper on my plans to see HIMYM, Glee, Grey's, Private Practice, and Office this week.  Stupid shows too awesome (or trashy) to watch without pause/rewind/ff buttons!  Must content self with more Ship Meme, even though at this point I am only invested in, like, half the questions.  The first one is one of them.

Day 14 - What is your favorite book pairing?
Remus/Tonks.  I don't even think I have favorite book pairings outside of Harry Potter.  That would require me to remember plots.

(that's not true!  I'm also real fond of Dan/Anne-Marie in Sara Gruen's pair of novels, namely Flying Changes.  Anne-Marie is mother to a stubborn teenager and owns/manages a boarding stable.  Dan is a vet who runs a horse rescue in his spare time.  His wife died of cancer. He built a house from scratch.  He was in love with Anne-Marie when they were young until she dumped him, but post-divorce they meet up again and he not only embraces her 15-year-old daughter, but they wind up adopting her ex-husband's newborn baby after said ex and his second wife die in a car crash.  It's like all my favorite elements of love & life plus my fondness for TRAGEDY!, combined into one super-epic story)

...also I am fond of most central pairings (plus Marianne/Willoughby) in Jane Austen's novels, right, I knew that.  Classic novels!  Like The Scarlet Letter.  HESTER PRYNNE/ARTHUR DIMMESDALE.  Do you know how often I read the chapter with the walk in the forest, hoping that maybe this time they will escape and find a new community where they can be a proper little family at last?  DO YOU?  Now you do.

Day 15 - What is your favorite real life pairing?
Anybody in Hollywood who has been married for more than 7 years.  Bonus points with a multiplication factor for every child they have together.  Will & Jada Pinkett Smith are the only ones coming to mind right now... oh!  That's right, David Arquette & Courtney Cox Arquette.  They are definitely my favorite Hollywood couple ever.

In other news, in mourning forever that Reese Witherspoon & Jake Gyllenhaal broke up.  People I love should be together to suit my whims!  It's like the only time in my life I've ever advocated a divorce,  because he was just a massive upgrade from Ryan Phillipe, and then there was adorable stepfather potential built right in.

Day 16 - What is the absolute worst pairing?
Glee: Puck/Rachel.  Not even a question, Puck/Rachel.  It grosses out my very soul.

Day 17 - A pairing you thought would never work out, but did?
CSI: NY, Flack/Angell.  I was Pretty Factor shipping that for a while just for kicks, and then IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, WHAT?  You were then able to observe my soul briefly partying it up in heaven before I was resuscitated back to life.

Day 18 - What is the cutest pairing?
Official holders of Puppy Love Ship: Still Ned/Chuck.  I want Pushing Daisies back.  I want that wonderful wide-eyed whimsy back so much.

Day 19 - A pairing you’ve rooted for since the beginning?
Augh, I don't know!  There are all these ships I was not around for the beginning of, and there are an equally surprising number I was against when they first began.  Let's go with Moonlighting and Mick/Beth.  That was instrumental in my watching it.

Day 20 - The ‘can’t stand the sexual tension anymore’ pairing?
This implies that there was a point at which I could stand the sexual tension.  I cannot.  When I like a UST pair, I get impatient within five episodes and demand to know why they have not started dating on the road straight to marriage yet.

On the other hand, I wish they would give up on Tony/Ziva, as I have grown tired of it.  And, well, I suppose Booth/Brennan would qualify here too.  They USTed themselves right out of my life.
