It's a long road up to recovery from here / a long way back to the light.

Everything about this episode was gross and sad, outside of Big Jim cuddling his beloved dog and Joe & Norrie bein’ all adorable and virginal again right before facing a zombie mob together.

(I guess Julia was also neither gross nor sad, but I just could not get excited about her. This is like when the parents took over in Inkheart, but in reverse. The teens have become the heroes on this grown-up show, and that’s only going to take me so far.)

So thanks for that spoilery “coming up this season!” promo. It looks confusing and boring and really devoid of Barbie/Julia so you know, this time I think I’m going to give it a pass for real.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to mull over the pain of Sam/Abby and mourn what could have been, in both this world and an alt-verse of my choosing. Because unfortunately, that sadness was the most emotionally satisfying thing in this episode.
